Project Overview
Aubrey contacted Eco Installer after his existing heating system had failed, leaving him without heating and hot water for several months over the summer. With winter approaching, his priority was to have a reliable and efficient system installed in time for Christmas.
The Assessment, Heat Loss Calculations and System Design (MCS Compliant)
Our Director, Shane, carried out a full site visit along with MCS-compliant heat loss calculations to ensure the new system was correctly sized for the property. The assessment confirmed that a 5kW Panasonic Aquarea R32 Bi-Bloc air source heat pump, paired with a 150-litre heat pump hot water cylinder, would provide an efficient and comfortable heating solution. The project also included the replacement of five radiators to optimise system performance.
The Installation
With time critical, our office team reorganised the installation schedule to prioritise Aubrey’s project. The existing fossil fuel heating system and redundant radiators were carefully removed, and the new renewable heating system was installed over a five-day period.
Once installation was complete, our engineers fully commissioned the system and provided a detailed handover, guiding Aubrey through the system settings to ensure he felt confident running it efficiently and getting the most from his new heat pump.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme Grant – £7,500 Towards Installation Costs
As the project involved replacing a fossil fuel system, Aubrey was eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, receiving a £7,500 government grant towards the installation cost.
Results: A Warm, Efficient Home for Christmas
Aubrey was delighted with the result and was able to enjoy a warm, comfortable home over the Christmas period with friends and family — powered by a modern, low-carbon heating system.
