Case Study:
When we complete a project for any customer, it is never a one-size-fits-all situation. Never. We can’t promise to tick every box as that wouldn’t be fair, but we can promise to try and find a solution that works for you and the needs of your family. This could be the type and size of the system we are fitting, or occasionally – get ready for it – it could be the colour.
Nowadays, you don’t just have to accept one option for anything, and that is the beauty of what we offer. Renewable energy solutions aren’t just eco-friendly and cost-efficient; they can also look sleek and modern in any home, whether it’s a new build or an older property.
Back in 2022, James contacted us regarding the installation of an 8.5kW EcoDan Mitsubishi air source heat pump with a 200ltr hot water cylinder and replacement radiators – 11 to be exact. This replaced the existing gas central heating system. Not everyone wants standard white radiators; in fact, nowadays more and more people are looking to mix things up, so companies such as ours need to be able to work with that. As you know, we love a bit of variety, so we embrace all requests with both excitement and enthusiasm. James opted for a mixture of Milano Aruba and Milano Bow radiators, and we had the heat pump sprayed an anthracite grey so that it blended beautifully with the existing window and door frames throughout the property.
But that wasn’t the end of our relationship with this customer. More recently, James reached out to us again to discuss the next stage of his journey to a more eco-friendly lifestyle and a more energy-efficient property. It was time to talk about solar panels.
Following Barry’s site visit, he concluded that the best solution to meet the specific energy requirements was to install an 8kW on-roof solar PV installation over two roofs using Aiko 510w solar panels, a Fox inverter and a Fox 10.36kWh battery. It was a job for Barry and Jude, along with our newest apprentice, Max, who is thoroughly enjoying getting his teeth stuck into exciting projects such as this one. Alongside the various installations we have carried out over the years, Eco Installer also carry out James’ regular heat pump services. James was delighted to take advantage of the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) and received a whopping £5,000 towards the installation (the BUS scheme has since increased to £7,500). NOTE. The BUS scheme is available to self-builders and homeowners wishing to upgrade their oil or gas central heating system.
